Appointments
To make an appointment please telephone the surgery. Surgery appointments are available with the doctors and the nurse which can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance. Emergencies are seen during the same session; you may have to wait but you will be seen.
You can also book to have a telephone consultation with a doctor. You will then be called by the doctor at the agreed time.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please cancel as soon as possible. This allows us to give your appointment slot to another patient.
Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late, then you will be seen at the end of the surgery. If you are more than 20 minutes late, you may be asked to make another appointment.
If you require an interpreter/translator service for your appointment, please ask reception at the time of booking. The practice will arrange for an interpreter to be present for your appointment (this includes telephone appointments).
We also offer GP and practice nurse extended hours evening and weekend appointments. Please see our 'Opening Hours' page or ask at reception for more information or to book an evening or weekend appointment.
In addition to the practice’s extended opening hours, patients in City & Hackney have access to GP, Practice Nurse, Pharmacist and Healthcare Assistant (blood test clinic) appointments from 6.30pm - 8.00pm Monday to Friday and to GP appointments from 8.00am - 8.00pm Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays as part of the Extended Hours GP Access Service.
These appointments are available at GP practices across City & Hackney. You can book an extended access appointment by calling our reception or by calling NHS 111 when we are closed. Please note that your medical records will be shared with staff at the extended access practice to ensure that you receive the best possible care and support.
Routine Appointments:
If your condition is non-urgent you can expect to see a GP within two working days though you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP. If you don’t need an appointment within two working days you also have the option to book up to six weeks in advance if this is more convenient for you. You can expect to see the practice nurse within one working day.
You can also book up to a month ahead for clinics – please see the ‘Clinics & Services’ section.
Sometimes patients may need a longer time to discuss their problems, for example, if the problems are complex or if the patient requires an interpreter. If you feel you might need more time, please let the reception know when booking. Where a routine appointment is arranged by the practice and the patient has complex needs, the practice may automatically arrange an extended appointment.
Why might it be difficult to get an appointment:
10% of our patients fail to turn up for their appointment. If you let us know as soon as possible that you can't attend your appointment, we can then make it available for another patient. Please aim to give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment.
Routine appointments for long-term conditions:
Many routine appointments are for patients who have long-term or chronic conditions that need monitoring on a regular basis. We will let you know when your next appointment is due with the practice nurse or doctor by telephone. As such, it is important to ensure that your contact details are up to date. It is important to continue your regular check-ups, even if you are feeling well. Routine appointments are available during normal surgery hours with the practice nurse and/or doctor. We hold regular clinics for most long-term conditions, e.g. Diabetes, Asthma, etc.
