Practice Nurse
Practice nurses are qualified nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning advice, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks, ear syringing, suture removals, new patient registration checks, dressings, cervical smears etc. The practice nurse also runs clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma and diabetes.
Clinical Pharmacists
Clinical pharmacists are experts in medicines and can help patients to stay as well as possible. They can support patients with long-term conditions like asthma, diabetes and high blood pressure, or anyone taking multiple medicines, to make sure their medication is working for them. Clinical pharmacists can help by reviewing your medicines, agreeing and making any changes to your prescriptions, and advising about medicines and possible side effects.
Physiotherapists
Physiotherapists in general practice are experts in musculoskeletal conditions. They are able to assess, diagnose and treat a range of complex muscle and joint conditions, reducing the likelihood of needing a referral to a hospital team. They can also arrange access to further treatment, investigations and specialists when needed. Physiotherapists can help by diagnosing and treating muscular and joint conditions, advising on how to manage your condition, and referring you on to specialist services where necessary.
Mental Health Practitioners
Mental health practitioners in general practice use a range of methods to help patients with mental health conditions. These range from talking therapies for common conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression and support for patients with more complex needs such as bipolar, psychosis and eating disorders. Mental health practitioners can help by carrying out assessments, providing advice and support to manage your condition, and supporting you to access appropriate local mental health services and community resources.
Physician Associates
Physician associates diagnose and treat a wide range of health conditions. They work alongside GPs and the wider practice team to provide care to patients, including those with long-term conditions. Physician associates can help by diagnosing and treating certain health conditions, arranging tests, and performing physical examinations.
Social Prescribing Team
The social prescribing team helps patients to focus on their social, emotional, and physical wellbeing, working alongside their medical team. They give patients time to focus on what matters to them, helping to connect them with local groups and services for a range of practical and emotional support. This could include physical activities and social groups, volunteering and gardening, or even debt and housing advice. The social prescribing team can help by supporting you to manage your health and wellbeing, giving you time to focus on what matters to you, and helping you to access support services and activities.
Practice Manager
The practice manager is involved in managing most aspects of the practice and making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, suitable premises, proper equipment, patient safety, etc. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop services to enhance patient care.
Reception Team
The reception team provides an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as registering new patients, and dealing with administrative work.
ALLIED STAFF
District Nurses
The district nurses provide services including: assessing the health needs of housebound patients, monitoring long-term health problems in housebound patients, care of terminally ill patients and support for their family. They can be contacted on 020 7683 5134.
Health Visitors
Health visitors are able to provide you with information and advice on child health/immunisations, etc. The health visitors are attached to the baby clinic, and are at the practice during the baby clinic hours.

Midwife/Antenatal Care
Our practice has an attached midwife provided by Homerton. Patients should book an appointment with the GP who will arrange an antenatal referral, give information on choice of provider, and refer to the midwife. The midwife/ante-natal clinic is on Wednesday between 09:00 and 13:00. Patients are seen in this clinic by appointment.
